CERAMIC SCULPTURES

‘Oer’ is the Dutch word which means ‘primal’, ‘primordial’, ‘primitive’, but also ‘hard ground’ ‘ferocious soil’. As such it perfectly signifies Dejana’s sculptures of unglazed clay that resemble primitive ancient art, while still deeply rooted in the abstract contemporary tradition.

The themes of the collection are equally primal: flowing water, fertile earth, metal-rich stone…

In general, OER sculptures are less inanimate objects of art and more like petrified spirits…

This collection of sculptures will be presented in a solo exhibition at Treehouse NDSM in April 2024
